The location of Moorclose B&B is just outside St. Bees, a short, but pleasant walk through the countryside. Jill picked me up at the train station when I first arrived and that was a great help in my getting oriented. Jill and Bill were wonderful hosts. They were sensitive to COVID precautions (offering separate breakfast seating for guests). The breakfast was a fresh and full offering suited to my diet (gluten free). Bill offered tips for my day trip to Haltwhistle and a hike out to Hadrian's Wall--much appreciated. I found the hosts to be genuinely interested and interesting in their own right. The setting was absolutely beautiful--spring flowers were in bloom and the horses were grazing in the nearby pasture. The room was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was modern and spacious. Everything was perfect about my stay at Moorclose Bed and Breakfast! Thank you for a great visit!

The hotel was lovely and very clean and the people were very friendly and helpful and pets were very welcomed as we took our dog, the only problem I had was WIFI, the breakfast was very good.

Outstanding property. Well equipped, very clean, quiet, comfortable, safe, and well decorated. Good wifi (we were able to stream Amazon Prime video with no problem) St. Bees is a premier destination in the western Lake District, and we're were glad to score this stay. Would love to come back sometime.

just about everything. the patio was great, the views from our room were lovely, the dinning area was cozy and the room was quiet despite having a pub downstairs. the people working there were the best part, and the food was great. Nathan the owner was fabulous and super helpful.

Excellent customer service and friendly host. The location is in a quiet coastal village right next to the railway station. If you have a car, you can reach most lake district attractions within 90 minutes drive. Wasdale head (Scafell Pike) is a 40 mins drive.

Clean, well equipped in a quiet friendly area. Lovely well maintained garden area. Locals were very friendly. Ideal location for beach and walking gentle or coast to coast path. Shower was very powerful.
