We had a great stay, beautiful and clean rooms, very friendly family hosts, very good food (homemade), perfect location and quiet, great birding in the area regarding target species, including agricultural fields nearby for a walk. Highly recommended.

The host was the best. Friendly, full of advice. Helped us figure out our trip, check out late and offered tea, fruit and even homemade jam. Everything they serve is homemade, cheese, bread, etc. Great dinner, great breakfast. And the pool overlooking the mountains is really good.

We highly recommend staying at Auberge Oued Dades. The family run Auberge is welcoming, very clean and situated in a calm spot overlooking a scenic view of the area. Owner, Daoud and his family showed us excellent and genuine hospitality. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast.

It is a little ways out of town, it cost us 50 MAD for a cab ride from the grand taxi stand. But it was well worth it! Ahmed, the host, is such a nice man, and his wife is a great cook. Make sure you sign up for dinner! Ahmed took us on a beautiful walk down through the fields where the almond trees were in full bloom, then up on the bluff to watch the sun go down over the valley. It was magical. Because we were the only guests, he had time the next day to take us on a wonderful auto tour through both the Todra and the Dades Gorges. He didn’t have to do it, but insisted when we asked if we could hire a car and driver. We tried to compensate him well, but he was very reluctant to take our money. He then helped us get a bus to Ouarzazate when we discovered that there were no shared taxis going there on Sunday. If you want the glitz of a Hilton, stay elsewhere. If you want a host with a heart of gold, don’t stay anywhere else!
