The property was so nice! It had a historical theme but all the modern amenities to stay comfortable. Karen and Paul were so kind and hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay!

Carole and Les are simply the perfect hosts. Their home is comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming. They offered us help every day in determining where to go and what to do, and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was huge - with a place to sit and relax. I loved talking football with Les - and hope his beloved Coventry City can return to former glory!

Breakfast, location to high street and shower were all particularly stand-out. Turned radiator to full on a cold evening and the room was really warm. Very close to Michael's Mediterranean restaurant, which I would highly recommend.

This locally owned 17th century inn, is crammed with history, traditional local cask ales and plenty of character, and stands at the lower end of Chipping Campden's historic High Street.
The inn is set in the small Cotswold town of Chipping Campden, an area renowned for its natural beauty. It has a peaceful position within a few hundred yards of the town center. It is located at the start of the Cotswold Way - a well known walk along the Cotswold Hill to Bath.
The inn was named The Volunteer in the mid 1800's because local men used to 'sign on' there for the volunteer armies.

When you stay in a room above a pub you expect to be part of the action….this is a lovely old pub, we felt like wayfarers from another era….so if you want quiet this is not for you. We enjoyed every minute, having a pint, sharing conversation, climbing our stairs to our cozy room. We love the Coswolds and the Volunteer Inn.

the room was very big and had a lovely dressing table which I found useful also the tv provided was good. the offering of free WiFi was really good too. the staff were lovely.
