We will return to this spacious and comfortable renovated farmhouse situated on a hilltop ridge near Povoacao. Located in the east of São Miguel you will within a few minutes drive see first hand the day to day life of a farming community and have views of the beautiful farmland, Furnas and the ocean. The town of Povoacao offers simple restaurant fare, grocery stores, a pharmacy, and a starting point for hiking trails. The house has three bedrooms, a large living room area, separate dining room and a full kitchen if you want to cook. The owner, Ana, lives next door with her family and helped us with our planning and answered our questions, suggesting places to visit and restaurants to enjoy in the evenings. We were welcomed with a loaf of bread, fresh fruit, ground coffee and homemade jam. The house is extremely well maintained and there’s a washer and dryer and two full bathrooms so it has everything you need. We were sorry to leave.

Perfect fit for us as a family of 6 (3 adults, 3 children). Lodging right above the grocery store was large, comfortable and had all the amenities that we needed. Location next to the river was relaxing and communication with the owner was great! Muito obrigado para tudo!

The ocean oview from the terrace and the bedroom is so amazing! The swimming pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was so beautiful. All the house, the area, the breakfast and the lovely hosts are very welcoming, cozy and cannot be better. It's a paradise on earth ❤️
